LSLS Cert AVT
is a speech-language pathologist with 23 years of experience and expertise. A strong believer in personal growth, she continued to better her abilities to serve her clients by becoming certified in the P.R.O.M.P.T. system, a tactile-kinesthetic approach extremely effective in improving speech intelligibility. Additionally, she went on to become a Certified Listening and Spoken Language Specialist, a philosophy and approach that serves the deaf and hard-of-hearing community enhancing their listening abilities in order to use spoken language. She holds a position on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Chapter of AG Bell. Pairing these two methodologies together has greatly enhanced the lives of her clients, both the hearing and hearing-impaired. For the majority of her career, Jamie has provided services and consultation for Bergen County Special Services. Recently, she began focusing on better serving her own community by opening a private practice, Help Is At Hand, located in the center of Denville, NJ of Morris County, evaluating the students within that school district and running social skills groups. In order for families to have access to her unique dual methodology worldwide, her team launched an online coaching program, the Sound and Speech Solution. www.soundandspeechsolution.com

Oral Phonetic Targets]
Certification makes all the
difference in the world
P.R.O.M.P.T. CERTIFIED clinicians have completed all 3 Levels of PROMPT training through the PROMPT Institute with Certified PROMPT Instructors. At the end of each 3-day course, the Clinician chooses one client to assess and submit a long-term video case study. The clinician assesses the client utilizing the PROMPT System Analysis Observation and the Motor Speech Hierarchy. Making diagnostic judgments the therapeutic plan is created, videoed over the course of 6 months, and then submitted and judged by a certified PROMPT Instructor. The clinician must demonstrate effectiveness, mastery of the theory, and knowledge behind the PROMPT in order to be considered officially PROMPT Level 1 or ,
PROMPT Trained.
This process is done again for PROMPT Level 2. Each clinician must practice the technique for ONE YEAR before moving on to the next step.
A clinician seeking certification must do a 3rd Long Term Video Case study and, again, have it reviewed and critiqued by a Certified PROMPT Instructor. If the CLIENT has shown progress AND the clinician has demonstrated full understanding of the System, he/she is FINALLY CERTIFIED.
Practice makes perfect, and that is true in the case of becoming PROMPT certified. This is your loved one. Don't settle.
